COMPUTER SCIENCE ( SOFTWARE, NETWORKING AND WEB MEDIA) PERSONAL COURSE REVIEW

This course will give you a broad understanding of the computer world including an understanding of programming properties for software such as games and web-browsers, creating new programmes or improving existing ones.
For instance there are computer science graduates currently working on technology to improve fire-fighting techniques, making better prosthetic devices for people with disabilities, making textbook graphics readable to the blind, working on connecting rural communities through technology and so much more, including eliminating hunger and preventing climate change.  In general, computer science courses are categorized into three different major:
  • Software Engineering - In software engineering you will explore the ways in which computing is used throughout modern society, explore software design and programming and build complex software systems. A degree in Software Engineering will give you the skills needed to solve commercial, scientific and technical computing problems and the means to develop usable software applicable in any field the likes of which include artificial intelligence, computer games, robotics, medicine, environment and even the film industry.
  • Computer Networking - Computer networking specialises in building, maintaining and managing networks that deliver information. In other words, this mainly revolves around computer networks, network analysis and network design. Businesses, whether it be governments, institutions, organisations or individuals, are continuously in need of graduates in this field due to the ever increasing reliance on data stored and supplied by digital technologies.
  • Web Media Technology - In the Web Media Technology course, you will study the concepts and principles of multimedia technology for application in websites. You will learn how to create 2D & 3D models, digital music, video and other technologies for web-related companies and businesses. Courses in Malaysia are primarily focused on design, development and deployment of interactive multimedia over the web. Graduates can join the industry as webmasters, web developers and web programmers.
The salary of computer experts is attractive, regardless which of the three field you involved. According to the survey, their incomes are higher than the average among the salary range of professionals. However, it has to depend on the company or field you they work for. For instances, IT employees in an accounting company are definitely lower than those under a information technology company.

Although the number IT graduates is skyrocketing, but still insufficient to cater for the market’s demand. Apart from that, highly-skilled IT professionals are extremely popular in the job market. In Malaysia, local companies are competing with international companies to get top IT professionals work for them. If you are capable, it is almost certain that you can work in oversea and enjoy the high pay.


The rising trend of information technology market causes high demand of IT workers. Among all the professionals’ field, IT professional is one of the highest employment rate. Therefore, obtain job opportunity should be an easy task.

Last interesting point of this course is, the cost is usually lower compare with other professionals' courses like engineering and medical. Lower cost, but great return profit, can be consider as the best investment in the current educational market.
