Bio-medical Engineering
in short is the combination of engineering and medicine. Biomedical engineers
apply engineering principles to analyze
and solve problems in biology and medicine, thus providing better health care.
They see the body as a machine with parts and systems that work together to
keep it running and like any other machine, the body has parts and systems that
can break down which biomedical engineers work to enhance, repair or replace.
Engineers in this field use advance technology to assist medical care, working
closely with other health care professionals such as physicians, nurses,
technicians and therapists.
This kind of engineering
sound good, but the job opportunity in Malaysia is really limited. This is
because in local high-tech medical equipment manufacturers are too few. Even
though the demand are predicted will increase, but students who choose still
need to think twice. There are better demands in foreign like Singapore and
Australia, thus it is suggested to study at foreign and try to search for jobs
over there.
The salary range of
fresh graduate on this course is difficult to be determined, since the number
